Gulch Distillers - Craft Spirits from Helena Montana

Welcome to Gulch Distillers. Our family-owned business transforms grains and fruits from Montana soil and sunshine into fine spirits and cocktails, perfect for everyday celebrations.

Gulch Distillers regularly manufactures nine spirits, all made in downtown Helena. Our operation flows through the Downtown corridor: beginning in the original Front Street location (the former Montana Distillery and Bottling Warehouse), we ferment and distill Montana agricultural products like wheat, barley, and apples; we next age the new-make spirits in the former State Liquor Warehouse; and finally we transfer the finished spirits to our Lawrence Street bottling facility. Bottled products are available for purchase in our Lawrence Street Tasting Room and in liquor stores across the state.

The Historic Julian Anderson Cocktail Trail

This June, Helena’s hospitality legacy comes to life in an exciting new way with the launch of the Historic Julian Anderson Cocktail Trail—a celebration of one of our community’s most iconic bartenders. For more than 60 years, Julian Anderson welcomed guests at the Montana Club with warmth, consistency, and a level of service that helped define Helena’s reputation for genuine, Montana-style hospitality. Alongside ten signature cocktail offerings at participating establishments, visitors can follow an engaging audio tour (free) that brings Helena’s history to life. We are featuring his original Daiquiri recipe as a bright, quenching summer cocktail.
