The Lewis & Clark Literacy Council helps adults, young adults and often their families, acquire the reading, writing, basic math, English language, American culture and work-based literacy skills, so that they may reach their full potential within their families, at work and in our community. We accomplish this mission by providing trained volunteer tutor/teachers, many of whom are certified educators who work one-to-one or in small groups with their students. We offer individualized instruction. All of our services, training and materials are FREE of charge. While most of our students are English language learners, many are also those that dropped out of high school and now want to prepare for the GED (HiSet) or just improve their employability skills by improving their reading, writing and basic math.
